GEOG 4521 6.0: Field Studies in Human Geography

In this course you will have the opportunity to learn about environment and development in the rural communities in Thailand. After pre-departure seminars covering issues related to diverse environment and development challenges facing Thai rural communities, we will depart for a three-week study trip to Thailand, where we will visit and learn about community-based sustainable development projects directly from the communities themselves, as well as from organizations and people supporting community development and conservation. The course dates are: May 4-29, comprised of one week at York and three weeks in Thailand. The course directors are Professor Peter Vandergeest and Professor Robin Roth.

South Korea

AP/POLS 3580 6.0: South Korea: The Politics of Youth and Old Age

York University is offering a 6.0 credit Study Abroad course in Seoul, South Korea, during May and June of 2015, which will be taught by Professor Thomas Klassen. YorkU Summer Abroad courses are like regular York courses… except classes happen in other countries.
