Congratulations to Eve Haque (Languages, Literatures and Linguistics), Jennifer Hyndman (EUC), Jean Michel Montsion (Multidisciplinary Studies, Glendon) and Cary Wu (Sociology) who were recognized for their research contribution as York Research Award Winners in the 2020–21 academic year.
Eve was awarded the York Research Chair in Linguistic Diversity and Community Vitality. Jennifer is the 2021 recipient of the President’s Research Excellent Award. This is in recognition of her outstanding accomplishments and leadership as an internationally recognized scholar of human displacement, humanitarian response, feminist geopolitics and refugee subjectivity. Jean Michel was recognized for his award of a Distinguished Fellowship from the Asia-Pacific Foundation (APF) of Canada. This is Canada’s leading organization for research, analysis and consultation on Canada-Asia relations. Cary was acknowledged for receiving funding from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), as part of CIHR’s Rapid Research Funding Opportunity, for his project, “The dynamics of trust during COVID-19.”
