Congratulations to Faculty Associates Korina Jocson (Education), Marissa Largo (Visual Arts), Katarina O’Briain (English), and Joel Ong (Computational Arts) who received funding from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada through the Insight Development Grant program. Professor O’Briain’s project focuses on Manila in the Transoceanic Archive: The Poetics of Colonial Occupation, 1762-1764. Professors Largo (PI) and Jocson (Co-I) are members of the team working on The Biyuti Project: Queer and Trans Filipinx Youth in Ontario Catholic Education, and Professor Ong is co-applicant on an environmental and social history of the Canadian mining industry in Africa, 1980s to present.
