Tania Das Gupta is Full Professor in the School of Gender, Sexuality and Women’s Studies, York University. Her publications, teaching and research interests are in the following areas: South Asian diaspora and transnationalism, race and racism, anti-racism, migration, state policies, women, work and families, community activism, and racism in the labour movement. Most recently she has published Twice Migrated, Twice Displaced: Indian and Pakistani Transnational Households in India (2022). Earlier publications include Real Nurses and Others: Racism in Nursing (2009); Racism and Paid Work (1995), and Race and Racialization: Essential Readings (co-edited). Her current research is about Punjabi newcomers in Canada in the context of COVID-19 (with Sugandha Nagpal). Currently, she is also serving as the Affirmative Action, Equity, Inclusivity Officer at York University.
