Geneviève is a doctoral student in Critical Human Geography at York University. She holds a Master’s degree in International Development and Globalization and a Bachelor's degree in Social Work. She has several research experiences related to displacement and forced migration in the context of climate change and environmental change. Her research interests include refugee studies, climate and environmental displacement, critical development, feminist political ecology, and sand mining and ecologies. Her doctoral research will be conducted in the Philippines, where she will explore the nexus between sand mining for development purposes, disasters and hazards, and forced displacement.
