Ava is a master’s student in Political Science at York University. She completed an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a Minor in Global Development Studies at the University of Victoria. She holds broad interests in social movements and online activism. She also is interested in the intersection of pop culture and politics, particularly with Asian media like K-Pop and their corresponding fandoms. Ava is also interested in the formation and the negotiation of sociopolitical identity of Asian diasporic youth in Canada, particularly in the Filipino diaspora.
