The Association for Asian Studies (AAS) Conference will be held in Toronto at the Sheraton Centre on 16-19 March 2017.
For York University students who are not presenting research at the conference but would nevertheless benefit from attending, the York Centre for Asian Research (YCAR) is offering 10 awards to cover AAS membership and the conference registration fee.

The deadline to apply for this award is Friday, 3 February 2017 by 4pm. Award recipients will purchase an AAS membership and register for the conference as a student member, no later than 19 February 2017. Awardees will then present receipts to YCAR and will be reimbursed.
Our hope is that this award will encourage students to attend the conference and take this opportunity to hear some of the world’s leading scholars in the field of Asian Studies. We also hope that students will attend the YCAR reception at the conference, to be held at 7.30pm on Friday 17 March 2017.
