Aung Min Thein is a doctoral candidate at Chiang Mai University, focusing on women’s, gender, and sexuality studies. He earned his MA degree from Mahidol University, and his thesis explored the interplay between gendered power structures and the use of modern contraceptives among married women in Myanmar. His research interests are deeply embedded in the convergence of gender and religion, gender and media, cultural narratives, sexual and reproductive health and rights, migration and feminism within Southeast Asia.
