Catherine Umolac is a doctoral candidate in the English Department at York University. Her research focuses on Canadian Literature and specifically the conversation that takes place between memoirs and archives. Her comparative project investigates this dialogue in the context of three pivotal events in Canadian history: residential schools, Japanese Canadian internment, and Jewish Canadian internment.
