Gang Pan’s PhD is a collaboration of East Asian Studies (Department of East Asian Studies) and Sexual Diversity Studies (Mark S. Bonham Centre for Sexual Diversity Studies) at the University of Toronto. He previously worked as an editor for Bejing Literature in China. He taught at University of Toronto before joining York University. His research project in progress is Prodigals in Love: Narrating Gay Identity on the Early Internet in China. He is a co-author of a Chinese language textbook, Speaking Out: Issues and Controversies, published by Routledge. His teaching and research interests include Chinese language, modern and contemporary Chinese literature and culture, Chinese martial arts culture, Chinese cinema, Chinese theatre, sexuality in China, and digital culture in China.
