Glen Norcliffe is a geographer and Professor Emeritus of the Faculty of Environmental and Urban Change. His research is focused on industry, trade and development, viewed from a cultural political economy perspective. His current research, funded by a SSHRC Insight Development Grant, explores the mobility of persons with disability, and particularly the potential of various types of adaptive devices—especially cycles—to promote the mobility of persons with disability. His fieldwork is focused on makers and users of adaptive bikes in North America, Western Europe and Indonesia. He works with team members from Brawijaya University in Indonesia and the University of Graz in Austria.
