Gobi is a doctoral candidate in the Socio-cultural and Policy Studies in Sport and Physical Activity research stream of Kinesiology. Her research investigates the lived experience of sport leaders in the Greater Toronto Area Tamil diasporic community, paying particular attention to the gendered and gendering nature of sport leadership. She completed her MSc at the School of Public Health and Health Systems at the University of Waterloo. Her MSc research looked at the relationship between ethnicity and health in Canada, and whether or not social capital was a mediator. Gobi’s research interests include sport, diasporic studies, leadership, postcolonial feminism, research methodologies, data analysis, social capital, program evaluation and well-being.
