Laraib is an emerging scholar in Humanities, with a research focus on Islamic feminism, Islamophobia and theories of social justice and equity specifically in South Asia. She is examining the role that South Asian Muslim communities play in portraying a stereotypical image of Islam as suppressive towards women and how it elevates Islamophobia. She is particularly interested in studying patriarchal cultural norms and political strategies in South Asian through researching lived experience. Her paper was published in the proceedings of the 10th International Conference on Gender & Women’s Studies.
