Liza M. Constantino is a doctoral candidate in the Dance Studies programme. Her dissertation explores the relatively recent growth of the Philippine pole dance community, which she has been part of since 2015. Currently in fieldwork phase (as of March 2024), her research intends to shed light on the changing conversations within the community regarding movement, training, safety and life in the metropolis by engaging oral history, movement observation, and auto/ethnography. Outside of pole and the aerial arts, Liza's dance practice and interests extend to K-Pop, contemporary floorwork, and dance in cinema.
