Patricia Trudel is a doctoral student in Sociology at York University. Her research focuses on the Korean sociocultural, affective, and postcolonial concept of han—which translates as a blend of unresolved resentment, grief and anger—within context of the new wave of South Korean feminism. Her previous research also looked at the significance of han within the Korean Canadian diaspora of Toronto. She worked with members of the Korean Canadian community to uncover the sociocultural processes through which knowledge on han is transmitted among Korean Canadian families and communities. Her other research interests reside in affect theory, Indigenous methodology, critical race theory, sensory ethnography, and decolonization.
