Ritika Tanotra is a doctoral candidate and researcher in the Department of Sociology at York University. Ritika’s background includes criminology, psychology, and sociology, with experience in conducting qualitative research. Her research interests are primarily in looking at the relationship between race, racism and nationalism, primarily when these intersect with one another and how these affect immigrants in the Western context (with a focus on South Asians). Additionally, she is interested in looking at how nationalism can/has been used as a form of resistance. She is also broadly interested in migration studies, particularly refugee resettlement and integration.
