Zhi Ming is a doctoral student in Politics at York University. She received her BA (with Honours) at the National University of Singapore and MA at York University. Her master’s research explored the case of forced marriages during the Khmer Rouge regime, examining forced marriage as a site of political contestation, social reproduction and sovereign-making. Her current research focuses on a decolonial feminist reading of international relations and international political economy, gender-based political violence, forced displacements, and land dispossessions in Southeast Asian conflicts. She is the author with Soul Park of “Tolerance as Implicit Order: Militias and Sexual Violence as Practice in Indonesia Counterinsurgency Operations” in the Journal of Intervention and Statebuilding.
