Sobia Kiran is a doctoral Humanities student at York University. She is studying Pakistani science fiction, comparing it with Western and Indian science fiction traditions. She uses interdisciplinary approach to discuss the mimicry and hybridity of Pakistani science fiction genre and its glocal themes. She holds an MA degree in English from York University. Previously, she has worked as an assistant professor of English at Lahore College for Women University and at Forman Christian College University, both in Lahore, Pakistan. She has diverse research interests, and her literary criticism combines various theoretical frameworks to discuss feminist, socio-political, historical and other issues in the primary texts. She has several scholarly publications and paper presentations to her credit.
