I am a doctoral candidate in the Communication and Culture program at York University with an MA in Communication from the University of Ottawa and a BA in the same field from Simon Fraser University. In my doctoral research project, I study the online consumption pattern of Chinese international students at York University and its influences on their identity negotiation during the global pandemic. I focus on YouTube and the Chinese video-sharing website Bilibili as the main subjects. Some topics that I am exploring in this project include the anti-Asian racism in post-pandemic Canada, the intercultural experiences of international students, and how gender and city of origin affect their adaptation.
