Siddharth Varadarajan is an award-winning journalist who has recently won the Elizabeth Neuffer Memorial Prize Silver Medal, the Ramnath Goenka Award, the Shorenstein award for outstanding reporting, and most recently, the prestigious Deutsche Welle Freedom of Speech Award. He has been a visiting lecturer at the school of journalism at the University of California, Berkeley, and a Poynter Fellow at Yale University. He served as the Editor of The Hindu, and in 2013, he co-founded The Wire, an outstanding non-profit digital news portal.
