YCAR Lecture Series Fund

YCAR supports Faculty and Graduate Associate-organized lecture series that allow for the development of a coherent thematic focus and ongoing conversations. In most cases, these should consist of three to five lectures around a theme that is focused enough to sustain an ongoing interdisciplinary discussion, but open enough to allow for wider engagement.

The Centre can provide funding, normally up to a maximum of C$1,000 to assist with refreshments, room bookings and publicity.

The annual deadlines to apply are May 01, August 01, and December 01, for the coming academic year. Requests outside of these deadlines should be directed to the YCAR Director at guruani[at]yorku.ca. The YCAR Funding Committee adjudicates this opportunity.

Additionally:

  • Associates are encouraged to seek funds from other sources
  • Associates are encouraged to consult the Director prior to applying.
  • Graduate Associates should ideally be working in collaboration with other Graduate Associates or a faculty member.
  • Priority will be given to applicants who have not received funding in the past two years.

Faculty and Graduate Associates interested in organizing a lecture series should complete this application form at this link.
