A new Chair has been appointed to take on leadership of the Department of Mathematics & Statistics. Effective July 1, 2023, Professor Michael Haslam will assume the role of Chair for a term of three years.

Professor Haslam’s professional expertise lies in the area of scientific and high-performance computing. Since arriving at York, he has taken on various administrative roles, including acting as the Applied Mathematics section director (2013-19 and 2021-22).
