Background

York University has been invited to nominate individuals for the King Charles III Coronation Medal in recognition of outstanding contributions n their communities in the areas of service, the environment and sustainability, and out nation’s diversity.  Nominations may be York University faculty, staff, students etc.

As York is limited to 5 nominees, the VPRI will coordinate an internal selection process.

We are requesting submissions by October 25th, 2pm through the following form:

Each submission requires a document with the following (see form linked above for details):

  • Summary of the contributions (250 words)
  • Theme(s) of contributions and achievements
  • Impact (250 words)
  • Leadership (250 words)
  • One of: Integrity, Professionalism, or Pride (250 words)

Eligibility

To be eligible for this honour, a person must:

have been alive on May 6, 2023, the date of The King’s Coronation.

have made a significant contribution to Canada or to a particular province, territory, region of, or community in, Canada, or attained an outstanding achievement abroad that brings credit to Canada; and have been alive on May 6, 2023, the date of The King’s Coronation.
