Calendar Course Description
The core course is designed for first-year graduate students to introduce them to the
process of scientific inquiry and hypothesis-based research. Students will be taught
different formats of scientific writing and oral presentation.

Expanded Course Description
The core course is designed to introduce students to the process of scientific inquiry and
hypothesis-based research. The objective is to teach and improve on the students’ skills
of scientific writing and oral presentation. Oral presentations with accompanying written
reports will be assigned. Potential issues facing graduate students during their training,
such as research progress, expectations and ethical conduct will be highlighted.

Evaluation
TBA (dependent on enrolment) but will consist of written assignments and oral presentations
