Can I take SC/NATS courses for credit towards my degree?

NATS courses are designed for non-science students. They do not count towards the BSc General Education requirement nor towards the BSc science breadth requirement. However, some NATS courses may be used as science electives, but not all.

For example, Biology majors cannot take Biology-related Natural Sciences (NATS) courses for credit. In addition, some NATS courses cannot be taken for credit if other science courses (such as first year physics or first year chemistry) have already been completed. If you decide to take a NATS course, please read the course description carefully – it will include information about course credit exclusions and “no credit retained” situations.

As these courses will be used to possibly fulfill Science Credits, please contact Science Academic Services for more information (they administer this portion of your degree requirements)
