Mark Bayfield
I’m interested in studying fascinating and fundamental mechanisms of gene regulation, especially ones related to RNA biology. Undergraduates who are interested in joining our group should inquire about performing the Department of Biology Honours Undergraduate Thesis (8.0 credit) not later than January of their 3rd year. Farnaz Mansouri-Noori
Farnaz is performing her Ph.D. degree studying La-related proteins in S. pombe and humans.
Connor Loupelle
Connor is performing his Ph.D. studying tRNA processing in human cells and during adaptations to viral infection and stress.
Brittney Remnant
Brittney is performing her M.Sc. thesis studying RNA processing in T. thermophila.
Mohammadaref Talebi
Aref is performing his M.Sc. studying regulation of expression of the Bmc1 gene in S. pombe
Joudi Kanaan
Joudi is an M.Sc. student investigating the role of the LARP1 family in mRNA translation and decay. Her research focuses on Slr1p, a LARP1 ortholog in fission yeast, and is exploring its conserved functions through various modes of binding.
Rozita Bayat
Rozita is a 4th year honours undergraduate student. She is investigating La function in tRNA maturation in human cells.
Selin Tahir
Selin is a 4th year honours undergraduate student. She is investigating the function of a La-motif containing protein in T. thermophila.
Sean Lazovski
Sean is an undergraduate research assistant in the Bayfield Lab
