The first case of Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) was identified on January 25th, 2020 in Canada. The first community transmission was confirmed on March 5th, 2020 in British Columbia. Soon after, in March 2020, all of Canada’s provinces and territories declared state of emergency, and to various degrees, school and daycare closures, gathering prohibitions, non-essential business closures, and travel restrictions. Canada strictly restricted its border access from all countries with some exceptions.
