Dear Teachers,
It is our great pleasure to announce the upcoming International Mathematical Modelling Challenge (IM2C). On behalf of the IM2C Canadian Committee, we would like to invite you and your students as well as your school to participate in this exciting and prestigious international contest. We are now inviting all Canadian public and private Secondary School students (Grades 9-12) to join the contest. The IM2C is an international contest that challenges high school students to apply mathematical tools and concepts on real-world problems in biology, engineering, finance, medicine, social science etc. The IM2C contest inspires students to develop creative problem-solving skills, engage in productive teamwork and utilize effective communication, all of which are critical to a student’s future success in life.
The IM2C contest period in Canada is from 4 pm, on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, and 4 pm, on Tuesday, April 19, 2022. Teachers act as facilitators who will register their teams and submit their solutions on-line. Each team is up to 4 students from the same school (mixed grades is fine). They will work on 5 self-selected consecutive days during the contest period to solve a practical problem and write a summary and a full solution for online submission. Registration is free.
