Research Interests
My work focuses on feeding and digestion in a variety of fish species and the impacts these have on overall fish physiology as well as the contributing mechanisms. My lab is an integrative lab, investigating fish physiology from the molecular level to the whole animal. As such the lab is established to investigate both transcription and translational regulation, as well as cell and tissue changes and whole animal responses. Of particular interest is the role of the gastrointestinal microbiome in physiology as well as the impacts of the environment on that relationship.
