Overview
Regardless of your preferred science discipline, your first year at the Markham campus will provide excellent learning opportunities and prepare you for success through the rest of your degree program.
First Year Science students at Markham will benefit from innovative course design, flexible learning formats, and smaller class sizes that promote networking and collaborative learning. Students completing their first year at the Markham campus can fulfill all first-year-course requirements for the programs below.
- Life Sciences: Biology, Biomedical Science, Biotechnology
- Chemical Sciences: Biochemistry, Chemistry
In their second year, students will transition to the Keele campus to complete their degree requirements. At Keele they can also further enrich their learning with experiential education opportunities such as co-ops and internships.

How to Apply
- Complete an Online Application Form.
- Ontario high school applicants must apply online, completing the OUAC 101 application.
- All other applicants must apply online using either the OUAC 105 application or the York University application.
- No documents will be reviewed prior to the submission of an online application.
- Pay the application fee.
- Submit supporting documents through the York University online portal, MyFile.
- Within four business days of application, you will receive a confirmation email with your nine-digit student reference number, which will allow you to access your MyFile account and upload your documents.
- It is important to check your MyFile regularly for any documents you are required to submit and updates to the status of your application.
