Objective
The Jacobs Foundation Research Fellowship Program is a globally competitive fellowship program for early and mid-career researchers whose work is dedicated to improving the learning and development of children and youth worldwide. The relevant disciplines include, but are not limited to, education sciences, psychology, economics, sociology, behavioral science, computer science, pedagogy, linguistics, neurosciences, and science of learning.
Particularly encouraged to apply are scholars who seek to combine multiple levels of analysis and engage in interdisciplinary work. A special focus lies on work to understand and embrace variability in learning; promote the generation, transfer, and practical application of evidence on human learning and development or increase the capacity to scale up effective education policies and practices.
Eligibility
The ideal candidate has received their PhD or equivalent degree within the past 10 years (leaves are taken into consideration), must be employed by an institution of higher education or research institution, be conducting high-quality research in an area of interest to the Jacobs Foundation and be committed to engaging with the Foundation, its activities, and the Fellowship Network.
How to Apply
The Strategic and Institutional Research Initiatives (SIRI) team is available to support nominations. Please contact your Faculty Research Office and Abby Vogus, SIRI Specialist, at avogus@yorku.ca to discuss timelines and how SIRI can best assist.
York University researchers are reminded that all applications for external research funding, including Letters of Intent, must be reviewed and approved by the Office of Research Services before they are submitted to the granting agency. For internal approval, the application must be accompanied by a completed ORS Checklist, which requires the Dean’s signature. Please send the complete application, with the finalized budget and a completed ORS checklist to sciapps@yorku.ca, five days prior to agency deadline.
ORS is accepting electronic applications – the process is outlined here.
