Professor M. W. Wong has been elected Vice-President for Americas for a two-year term from August 2003 to August 2005.
The International Conference on Pseudo-Differential Operators and Related Topics held atVäxjö University, Sweden from June 22, 2004 to June 25, 2004 was well attended by about 50 mathematicians. The proceedings will be published in Israel Gohberg's series ``Operator Theory: Advances and Applications''. The publisher is Birkhäuser and the editors are Paolo Boggiatto, Luigi Rodino, Joachim Toft and M. W. Wong.

A new journal entitled "Journal of Pseudo-Differential Operators and Applications" will be launched and published by Birkhäuser, Basel. Professor Luigi Rodino of Università di Torino, Italy and Professor M. W. Wong of York University, Canada will be Editors-in-Chief and the inaugural volume is being planned to be published in March 2010.
