Talk Description:

School must be accessible by TTC

With an increase in the Internet bandwidth, it has now become possible to broadcast in real time digital multimedia data originating from live events and video-on-demand services to personal computers, wireless laptops, and PDAs. This presentation focuses on networking aspects of multimedia communications. Special considerations for sending multimedia over asynchronous transfer mode (ATM), wireless, and Internet protocol (IP) networks including error resilience and quality of service (QoS) will be discussed. Next, we will present dynamic intelligent network protocols that provide QoS-based multicast (one-to-many and many-to-many communications). This talk will also focus on some of the latest advances in the multimedia applications such as telemedicine and distant collaborative environments.
