Talk Description:
The natural world is full of examples of highly sophisticated nano-machines. From the replication of our DNA to the smallest bacteria and even ourselves, life is a fantastic interplay of biological machines operating at the nanoscale. Learning from Nature's nanoscale examples will lead to new advances in medicine, electronics, and machines, to name a few. This talk highlights a few interesting examples of "Nature's Engineering Wonders" and discusses how scientists are moving towards harnessing biology for nanotechnology and the next generation of alternate energy sources.
