Sports and Statistics: Is Sidney Crosby the best?

The box office hit MoneyBall (staring Brad Pitt) popularized the idea of sports analytics in baseball. The idea of using statistical analysis to make decisions in sports has been growing recently, with even the Maple Leafs announcing the creation of their own statistics department in August of 2014. In this talk, I will look at some of the ideas behind sports analytics and also talk about other career opportunities in statistical science.
