Talk Description:
A supernova is the most energetic single event in the universe after the Big Bang. It is the explosion of a star at the end of its life that can outshine tens of billions of stars combined. I will explain how a star comes to explode and will show a video produced by us, with animation of the enormous shock wave reflected in a shell of radio emission that bursts into the space between the stars.
