Truth, Lies and Statistics

Benjamin Disraeli complained that “there are lies, damn lies, and statistics.” H. G. Wells had a different view: "Statistical thinking will one day be as necessary for efficient citizenship as the ability to read and write." In this talk we will explore the deep wisdom in both these statements.
