Tony Di Domenico was appointed to the Board of Governors on January 1, 2018 and serves as a member of the Academic Resources Committee and the External Relations Committee.
Tony is a partner and Regional Leader of Fasken’s Antitrust/Competition & Marketing group. As former counsel to Canada’s Commissioner of Competition (Department of Justice Canada), Tony represents and counsels clients in connection with a variety of domestic and multi-jurisdictional competition matters, including mergers, criminal cartel cases, class actions, advertising and marketing practices and abuse of dominance. Tony has extensive trial and appellate experience, having appeared as counsel before Canada’s Competition Tribunal, all levels of court in Ontario, the Federal Court of Canada, the Federal Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada. Tony is a frequent speaker and commentator on competition issues and serves as a non-governmental advisor to the International Competition Network.
Tony is a past Vice-Chair of the York University Alumni Association and a past board member of Osgoode Hall Law School’s Alumni Association. He served two terms as a Governor of York University (as a student), is a former member of York University’s Senate and Senate Executive Committee (also as a student) and a former chair of York University’s Student Senate Caucus.
Tony serves on the Board of Directors of the Italian Chamber of Commerce of Ontario and the Hockey Association for the Developmentally Challenged.
A graduate of York, Tony received his LL.B., Osgoode Hall Law School (2005) and B.A. (Hons.) (2002).
