Konata Lake was appointed to the Board of Governors on October 1, 2016 and serves as a member of the Finance and Audit and Investment Committees.
Konata is a Partner at Torys LLP where his practice focuses on corporate law with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions (public and private) and infrastructure and energy.
A graduate of York, Konata received his JD, Osgoode Hall Law School (2008); MBA (With Distinction), Schulich School of Business (2008); and BBA (With Distinction), Schulich School of Business (2003).
Konata has served on the Board of Inner City Outreach, a non-profit that is dedicated to transforming under-served areas of major urban centres; the board of Regent Park Community Health Centre; the Board of Excalibur Publications (York's student newspaper); as Chair of the York University Student Centre Corporation; and as a student representative on York's Board of Governors. He is a member of the Ontario Bar Association and sits on the Natural Resources and Energy Law Section Executive Committee. He is also a member of the Osgoode/Schulich JD/MBA Alumni Association, Steering Committee.
