Bobbi-Jean White
“I’ve devoted my entire career to professional services in education. Now I am enjoying sharing best practices to help strengthen York and the sector at large.”
Bobbi-Jean White has devoted her entire career as a chartered professional accountant (CPA) to serving Canada’s education sector; however, her volunteer work at York University is one of her proudest career accomplishments.
Bobbi was appointed to York’s Board of Governors in 2017, where she chairs the Finance and Audit Committee and is also a member of the Executive and Academic Resources Committees.
A partner at KPMG LLP, Bobbi brings to her volunteer leadership roles more than 20 years of experience in public accounting with a specialization in the not-for-profit sector. In addition to universities and colleges, she regularly audits foundations, charities, arts and cultural organizations, membership organizations and religious groups, along with government agencies and trade/business associations.
She is also active in KPMG’s annual recruiting process, often mentoring York students and hosting the Schulich School of Business’s Women in Business annual celebration event at the firm’s Toronto office.
Bobbi is chair of the board of directors of the KPMG Foundation and national champion of CommunityShift, a leadership development program founded by KPMG Enterprise and Western University’s Ivey Business School. She is also an active volunteer at CPA Canada, serving as a member of the not-for-profit governance committee. She is an in-demand speaker on financial literacy, leading workshops for the boards of multiple colleges and universities.
Bobbi’s many contributions to Canada were recognized in 2012 with the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal.
