The Student Systems Renewal Program (SSRP) hosted the program’s first webinar on Tuesday, Aug. 1. It was a great success with more than 450 staff and faculty in attendance. Members of the SSRP leadership team provided a high-level overview of the program and its projects and participated in a question-and-answer period. If you missed the live session, the recording is available here and a sampling of the questions with associated answers can be found at the bottom of this blog.
This was the first webinar in a series and it was meant to introduce the SSRP to York’s faculty and staff, if they didn’t already know about it. Upcoming sessions will focus on the different projects within the program. This webinar series is one way the SSRP is sharing information about the program, along with ongoing meetings with faculties and divisions and updates through its community contacts, such as Project Leads, Program Champions and Subject Matter Experts. These groups provide essential support to staff and faculty by increasing knowledge about the program and provide SSRP with feedback from their teams. As the SSRP projects prepare for launch, the webinar series will allow attendees to learn more about the new projects directly from the experts.
The first webinar provided an overview of the SSRP, along with information about the new Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) and Financial Aid, Awards and Scholarships solutions. Planning is underway for future webinars that will include demos and opportunities for live question-and-answers. Student-facing webinars will also be developed once the solutions are live.
Thank you for your continued interest in the SSRP. Stay tuned for announcements about upcoming webinars, details will be posted in the News and Events section of the SSRP’s website as soon as they are available. For more program-specific information, please explore the SSRP website, review the FAQ page or email ssrp@yorku.ca.
Sampling of Aug. 1 webinar questions and answers – the full question and answer period can be found at 31:14 within the webinar recording:
- Will the new Financial Aid, Awards and Scholarships solution be used to disburse York central awards only or faculty and department level awards as well?
The new solution for Financial Aid, Awards and Scholarships will disperse central awards, faculty and department-level awards. Everyone in the university can use this system for award distribution. - How do I know who my Program Champion is or who my Project Lead is?
The SSRP’s website – yorku.ca/ssrp – is a great resource for everything you need to know about the SSRP, including who the dedicated Faculty and Division Project Leads and Program Champions are. If you toggle to the Key Collaborators page, you will find a listing of all Project Leads, Program Champions and Subject Matter Experts. - Will York Markham team use this CRM for Fall24 recruitment to Markham programs?
The new CRM is launching in September 2023. All faculties who use the CRM to communicate with prospective students have been notified and are in the process of being trained. Markham is part of that group and will be able to leverage the CRM to recruit for their incoming class for fall 2024.
