12 Days of Assessment – New Webinar Series
By Eliana Elkhoury and Brian Nairn
Do you find yourself stuck in an assessment rut, looking for fresh new ideas on how to evaluate student performance in ways other than a standard multiple-choice approach? Are you on the other end of that spectrum, with assessment ideas flowing, but looking for a place to bounce those ideas off of? Or do you fall somewhere in the middle, knowing you want to change your assessments up, have a few ideas, but not entirely sure what else is out there?
If you answered “Yes!” to any of the above questions*, you might be interested in a new webinar series being launched by the Teaching Commons with direct focus on assessment strategies, the 12 Days of Assessment.
*Even if you answered “No!”, you are still encouraged to join us…who knows what you’ll learn!
Following the success of the recent Assessment Strategy Exchange hosted in December 2020, we knew we were just starting to scratch the surface of the assessment conversation.
Enter the 12 Days of Assessment! A weekly webinar series hosted by two Educational Developers from the Teaching Commons, Eliana Elkhoury and Brian Nairn, that is based off of the recently prepared Guide to Alternative Assessments (click here to read).
Within these webinars, we will be discussing a variety of assessment options, including but not limited to: alternative assessment, authentic assessment, fun and creative assessments, rubrics, and many more!
Additionally, we will be providing opportunities to hear directly from faculty and students during panel conversations (dates TBD).
Understanding that not everyone can attend every session every week, we will also be recording and posting the link for you to watch at your own convenience.
Here is the list of our first four topics, along with Zoom links to join:
