How Do You Know Learning Happens?
The course is designed to bring together graduate students who are interested in teaching and learning, to explore, dialogue, and reflect on teaching and learning in higher education. We hope that participants can use this time and information to explore their own teaching identity and support their peers in doing the same. We discuss different learning theories, teaching practices, and evidence for effective teaching and learning. Topics include Universal Design for Learning, Equity, Diversity, Decolonization, Inclusion and Accessibility (EDDIA), and Learning Science.

How Do You Know Teaching Happens?
Throughout this course, participants have the opportunity to practice and experience different instructional strategies with peers from across the university. Discussion and reflection centre around the ways in which participants’ instructional strategies are informed by the teaching and learning literature, and the ways participants can use the strategies intentionally to align with their teaching beliefs and commitments to Equity, Diversity, Decolonization, Inclusion and Accessibility (EDDIA).
