Using Intersectionality to Foster Equitable Connections in Classrooms – Nov. 22
In this workshop, we aim to share/collaborate on some best/better practices to address the needs of the diverse populations that make up Tkaronto/Toronto. The classroom landscape is always changing especially with precarious pandemic conditions, housing prices, mental health crises, and the continued effects of long covid. We are continuing the conversations about how implicit bias and lived experiences impact classroom design and dynamics. From there, we will connect student learning and apply an intersectional framework to discuss specific practices we can employ to support students. There are elements beyond our control and will discuss strategies to try and mitigate them.
