Certificate in teaching practices

This certificate offers course directors and librarians a flexible framework for further developing your understanding of university teaching and integrating a range of teaching strategies focused on student learning.

You will receive a certificate that is recognized at York and beyond. It can support your dossier as you progress in your teaching career or apply for teaching awards.

  • Complete an Instructional Skills Workshop
  • Complete the Course Design Institute
  • Blended and Online Learning Development (BOLD) Institute
  • A blog post of your learning/key messages/thoughts/ideas (350-500 words).
    • This blog post and will be published on our Teaching Commons “Blogs” page, and will appear in YFile.
  • For your certification application, you will need to provide:
    • The dates of completion for the above offerings
    • A copy of your blog ready for posting
