Science Communication Workshop: Making your teaching more accessible and relevant for diverse, non-expert audiences (IN-PERSON) – Feb. 15

Do you want to learn how to better inform, educate, and/or engage with non-expert audiences such as your students? In this 1-hour, face-to-face workshop, we will build on our understanding of science-related experiences, knowledge, and attitudes while building practical science communication skills through hands-on activities:

Message Box
Elevator Pitch
Storytelling / 3-Minute Thesis (3MT)

Science literacy and communication are key to teaching scientific topics in an accessible way. These skills will help us design and deliver learning opportunities which can help us not only in our teaching, but to engage more people with science. The goal of this workshop is to learn strategies for communicating science clearly, confidently and authentically with diverse audience groups. All levels in teaching are welcome!

This session will be facilitated by Chimira Andres, a Senior Teaching Assistant in Science and Engineering
