Subject: Steacie Data Centre Power Failure
Steacie Data center suffered a power loss today at around 8:00am, There was a scheduled Keel
e Campus Power Transfer at 0800, the utility power feed to Steacie got transferred from Keele substation to Steeles substation.
During this transfer the Steacie data centre was expected to run on UPS battery power for 5 seconds. The 300KVA UPS failed and shut itself down.
Multiple systems are down and the UIT team is working on restoring services.
