[RESOLVED] Service Advisory – An unplanned outage to remote locations. Thursday November 10th, 2022, from 12:45 a.m. to 2:30 a.m. EDT

Service Advisory

 

Please share the following update with your technical teams.

On Thursday November 10th, 2022, from 12:45 a.m. to 2:30 a.m. EDT, York’s fiber provider to remote locations, Beanfield, performed scheduled fiber infrastructure upgrades on their network. These service provider upgrades resulted in outages to many remote York locations.

 

Even though the outages took place in the middle of the night with minimal impact on the community, they will be classified as unplanned because they were NOT announced to the community.

 

Network Services has updated its communication protocol to ensure the community is informed of service provider outages in a similar fashion to how we communicate internal service-impacting changes. 

 

The following locations were impacted last night:

  • Glendon
  • Nadal
  • OPD
  • IBM Markham
  • Proctor
  • TDSB
  • York Gate
  • Frost
