Brad Strom
Chief Information Officer
With over 25 years of IT and security experience spanning multiple industries—from business consulting and banking to large-sector energy—Brad Strom is committed to building strong partnerships, fostering high-performing teams, and driving meaningful change.
He’s spearheaded significant business transformations, introducing innovative digital capabilities in customer channels, grid modernization and lending. Brad has also led cyber and physical security investments in critical infrastructure and highly regulated environments.
Before joining York University, Brad was the Vice-President and CIO for Technology and Security at SaskPower and the Vice-President of Development & Operations at Farm Credit Canada. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Systems from Carleton University.
Brad’s family is his anchor, his source of gratitude and inspiration. He and his talented wife, Elizabeth, are the proud parents of four incredible children: Gabriella, Lucas, Naomi, and David.
Passionate about fostering community, Brad previously chaired the Board of The Caring Place, which provides mental health services to communities in Saskatchewan, and currently serves on the Board of ORION, a not-for-profit that supports Ontario’s progress with essential digital infrastructure.
