We are week in with our upgraded Insight environment, and are now in our post-production support phase. Throughout the week, we have encountered some issues and have done our best to resolve them in order to ensure things continue to run smoothly. Here is a list of problems that we have encountered, or that have been reported, along with their status:
1. Slowness of logging in.
Originally, we had thought that there is a 60 or so second delay when you log into the system for the first time. Some clients had reported a much more dramatically long wait. It was also the case that if you had not logged in for some time, the delay would reoccur. We diagnosed the problem and resolved it last Thursday night. We do not anticipate any further log in disruptions. However, if you do continue encounter a problem, please contact us (contact details below).
2. Compatibility with Internet Explorer 10.
Insight supports Internet Explorer 10, but some clients are experiencing problems. We diagnosed the problem and are working to resolve it in a timely fashion. For the time being, if you are experiencing any problems, we recommend you use Firefox web browser. Please note that Internet Explorer 11 will not work.
3. Insufficient Privileges for Existing Clients.
Several clients have experienced their authorization revoked. Unfortunately, as part of the upgrade process, we are not able to verify that every client’s authorization was maintained. If your authorization has changed, please contact us to rectify the situation (contact details below).
4. 404 error page.
If you have not put the website address precisely as https://insight.yorku.ca/analytics, you will experience a 404 error page. We are working to replace that page with something more client friendly. We do, however, suggest you bookmark http://www.yorku.ca/computing/insight and use that page as a gateway. The ‘Login Now’ button will point you in the right direction. We also post announcements of future changes and maintenance on that page.
